He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Kinney and Pearl Kinney (Dow); his siblings, Berniece, Irene, Betty, Bub (Donald), Harold, Babe (John Jr.), Helen and Joe; and his children, Wendy (Chuck), Rod and Kathy (Kevin). He was also cherished by his three children, eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been established to Shriner's Children's Hospital and Sturgis United Methodist Church.
