We announce the death of Clara Ann Herman of Timber Lake, South Dakota, who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 82. Clara Ann will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Scherr and Margaret Scherr (Myers); her husband Thomas John Herman; and her siblings, Joyce, Alice, Joe and Irvin Scherr.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas, Robert of Timber Lake, James, Kathy Maag (Kelly) of Watertown, SD, Delores Herman (Chad) of Lakewood, CO, Barbara Herman (Neil) of Bismarck, ND and Loretta Schmidt (Bruce) of Rapid City, SD; her brother Jack Scherr (Judy) of Rapid City, SD; and her siblings-in-law, Catherine Bresee (Dennis) of Moorhead, MN and Jay Herman (Audrey) of Green Valley, AZ.. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (506 F St, Timber Lake, SD 57656). A prayer was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
