It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Lou Scherer of Timber Lake, South Dakota, who passed away on November 15, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Becker and Margaret Becker (Heil); her husband Bob; and her siblings, Peggy Simmers, Charlotte Hartel, Darold and Donald Becker.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Scherer (Renee), Lenore Smith (Jim), Joe Scherer (Sheila), Patricia Keller, Cindy Gebhart (Steve) and Marsha McAdams (Jerry); her sisters, Marce McGuire, Virginia Storey and Donna Bowker; and her sister-in-law Carol Becker. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (506 F St, Timber Lake, SD 57656). A prayer was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
