He was predeceased by: his parents, Hauko Janssen and Valborg Janssen; his wife Norma Janssen; his stepmother Gladys Janssen; and his brother-in-law Curtis Nelson.
He is survived by: his children, Nora Kohlenberg (Scott) of Mitchell, SD, LeeAnn Janssen of Trent, SD and Dan Janssen of Dell Rapids, SD; his grandchildren, Amber and Aaron Kohlenberg; his sisters, Sharon Scherff (Melvin) of Trent, SD and MaryAnn Nelson of Dell Rapids, SD; and his stepbrother Rick Hoil (Grace) of Sioux Falls, SD. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Skroch Funeral Chapel (409 E 2nd Ave, Flandreau, SD 57028). A prayer was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Trent Baptist Church (102 2nd St, Trent, SD 57065).
