He is survived by: his wife Carol Mueller of Scotland, SD.; his children, Cindy Batterman (Glen), Joan Werning (Dale), Wayne Bietz (Tammy), Todd Bietz (Charlene) and Linda Bares (Steve); his grandchildren, Carrie Reiner (Marc), Stephanie Wolbrink (Ryan), Nicole Fink (Aaron), Kelli Fink (Cory), Scott Werning (Ashley), Jill Hoff (William), Jared Werning (Kassi), Bryan Bietz (Shawn), Cheryl Bones (Dan), Levi Beitz (Kristin), Seth Bietz (Pam), Nathan Bares (Carley LaFrentz) and Brendan Bares (Jessica); his great grandchildren, Mattilyn, Megan, Mason and Mia Reiner; his grandchildren, John, Ethan, Austin, Aubrey Fink, Jaxon, Grady, Karah Wolbrink, Kollins, Lennox Fink, Creighten, Thatcher Werning, Kinley Werning, Khloe Hoff, Conner, Garret, Issac Bietz, Lauryn, Madisyn, Lawson Bones, Wyatt, Callan Bietz, Kacynn, Kelsey, Kash Beitz, Luke Bares and Booker Bares; his sisters, Norma Mogck and Wilma Herr (Willmer); and his brother-in-law Marvin Mueller (Patty). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First American Lutheran Church (300 S Carpenter St, Tripp, SD 57376). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Grace Hill Cemetery (41135 288th St, Tripp, SD 57376).
