She was predeceased by: her parents, John J. Kortan and Rose M. Kortan (Killian); her husband Thomas Sykora; her daughter Dorothy; and her siblings, Margaret and Jim.
She is survived by: her daughter Elaine Williams (Evan); her grandchildren, Brian Slama, Matt Gage and Sarah Del Gavio (Dunker); and her great grandchildren, Josee, Gus Slama, Emiliana, Azalea, Daniel Gage, Daniella, Gianna and Isabella Del Gavio.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Leo Catholic Church (100 E Nebraska St, Tyndall, SD 57066). A wake was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at the St Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery (205 N Lidice St, Tabor, SD 57063).
