He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell MacConnell and Esther MacConnell (Heid); his siblings, Durwood MacConnell (Brenda), Ben MacConnell (DeeDee), Jeane Ritzman and Nancy Opitz; and his grandson Marshal MacConnell.
He is survived by: his wife Theresa Simon of Marlow, SD; his son Eric MacConnell (Diane) of Marlow, SD; his sisters, Ellen Hagenson (Steve) of Veblen, SD and Valerie Crandall (DeVaar) of Lidgerwood, ND; and his in-laws, Delia Clark (Jim), Stan Ritzman and Jim Opitz. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Chapel (754 5th St, Britton, SD 57430).
