It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Orville Dean Milk of Wanblee, South Dakota, who passed away on November 8, 2025, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper Milk and Bernice Milk (Let Them); his grandfather John Fire Lame Deer; his brothers, Samuel Royce Milk, Sr., Irving George Milk, Rupert Pate and Lance Burr; his close friend Mabel Eagle Heart; his son Tahca Mahpiya Takiya Milk; and his grandchildren, Nevaeh Milk-Cottier, Caitlin Milk, Stormy Milk, Charlie Whistler, Julia Wilcox and Gladys Bettelyoun.
He is survived by: his children, Sami R. Asanpi, Samone D. Milk, Akisa Milk, Sommer D. Milk, Franklin D. Milk, Samuel Royce Milk, Jr. and Kyle B. Thompson; his wife Theresa Milk; his brothers, Duane Milk and Curtis Milk; and his grandchildren, Antwaan Cottier, DeAndre Cottier, Chucky Cottier, Kianna Milk, Bella Asanpi, Rosalie Asanpi, Damon Milk, Nova Milk, Esmeralda Milk, Aidan Milk, Bineshiinh Milk, Kili Asanpi, Kota Asanpi, Gabriella Milk, Layla Kay Means, Lisa and Kolton Reid Cummings. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
A wake was held on Sunday, November 16th 2025 at 3:00 PM and on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the TNT Center. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
