He is survived by: his wife Loa LuAnn Spear; his children, Mauna Wipf (Richard) of Ft. Pierre, SD, Michael Bernard (Donnietta) of Watertown, SD, David Bernard (Mashell) of Watertown, SD, Theresa Popham (Ken) of Webster, SD, Thomas Bernard (Sandy Kuper) of Watertown, SD and James Bernard (Tia) of Denver, CO; and his brothers, John Bernard of Wyndmere, ND and Jerome Bernard (Bev) of Rice, MN. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.
