He is survived by: his wife Theresa Lanning of Watertown, SD; his sons, Nick Lanning of Sioux Falls, SD, Alan Lanning (Christina) of Thomas, SD and Lucas Lanning (Rachel) of Watertown, SD; his stepchildren, Jennifer Lickfeldt (Ryan) of Hutchinson, MN, Jill Schmig (Derek) of South Shore, SD and Ryan Howey (Nikki) of Sioux Falls, SD; his sister Vickie Lambert (Fletcher) of Hernando, MS.; his parents-in-law, Bonnie, Mike Daily, Shirley Wilson (Robert) and Josephine Roberto; and his sister-in-law Gina Kleinendorst. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel (1111 4th St NE, Watertown, SD 57201). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
