He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Filipek and Lois Filipek (Willie); his former wife Ruth Felix; and his grandson Tyson Brist. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Colestock; his pet Fred; his daughters, Gina Brist (Travis) and Tiffany Parker (Michael); his grandchildren, Abby, Jeremy, Emily and Justin; and his siblings, Dan Filipek (Ruth), Rick Filipek and Sally Schwab (Randy).
Visitation was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (110 3rd St SE, Watertown, SD 57201). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
