He was predeceased by : his parents, Carolyn Mitchell (Fox) and Clifford Mitchell; his brother John; and his sister-in-law Joanne Murdoch (James). He is survived by : his daughter Elizabeth "Beth" (Michael Miller) of Castle Rock, CO; his wife Nina Mitchell; his son Cliff (Jaime) of Oak Creek, WI; his granddaughter Elena (Miller); his siblings, Gary (Mariel Luna) of Winchester, VA, Monica (Charles Stutes) of Rayne, LA, Joan (Ken Busch) of Prior Lake, MN, Carol (late Dennis Dingman) of Sioux Falls, SD and Ken (Georgia) of Eagan, MN; and his siblings-in-law, Bill Schmeling (Cheryl) of DeSoto, KS and Charlotte Muller (Dan) of Sioux Falls, SD. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel (1311 4th St NE, Watertown, SD 57201). A rosary will be held on Friday, May 10th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Jesus Catholic Church (1009 Skyline Dr, Watertown, SD 57201).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church or I.C. school.
