Shawn Engelmeyer Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shawn Engelmeyer of Watertown, South Dakota, who passed away on February 7, 2026 at the age of 54. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his parents, Dennis Engelmeyer and Aggie Engelmeyer (Young) of Watertown, SD; his wife Kristie Scheel; his sister Kristie Ridder (Neil) of Olathe, KS; his nieces and nephews, Logan and Siree; his brother Ryan Engelmeyer (Gretchen) of Lee's Summit, MO; his nephews, Miles and Easton; his brother Andy Engelmeyer (Hailey) of Olathe, KS; his in-laws, Dennis and Jean Scheel of Wessington Springs, SD; his brother-in-law Jim Scheel (Audra) of Alpena, SD; his nieces and nephews, Carissa, Teagan and Kaycee; his sister-in-law Wendy Denison (Joey) of Arlington, SD; his nieces and nephews, Devin Denison (Abbi) and Karly Haug (Derek); his siblings-in-law, Ann Scheel of Wessington Springs, SD and Jason Scheel (Brooke) of Volga, SD; and his nieces and nephews, Justin Randall, Rowdy Scheel, Lincoln Scheel, Riley Kilber, Ty Kilber and Jocelyn Kilber. He is also survived by five great nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, Shawn's family will direct memorials to help kids with school lunches.
