With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Shirley Haines in Watertown, South Dakota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward O. Hallauer and Emma Hallauer (Ries); her husband Robert "Bob" Haines of Henry's Catholic Church; her in-laws, Fred and Vera Haines; her sister Lois Zerfas; and her siblings-in-law, Cletus Zerfas, Arthur Haines, Jim, Ilene Haines, Harold and Margret Haines.
She is survived by: her daughters, Margaret "Peg" Marsden of Hemet, CA, Susan Keller (Steven) of Minneapolis, MN and Beth Abercrombie of Winter Haven, FL; her sister Sophie Hallauer of Minneapolis, MN; her grandchildren, Kate Lewis (Steven), Noah Keller (Haley) and Hope Abercrombie; her great grandchildren, Mathilde and John Keller Lewis; her sibling's children, Jim Zerfas, Edward Zerfas (Sarah), Lynn Haines, Paul Haines and Kathy Haines; and her pet Clancy.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel (1111 4th St NE, Watertown, SD 57201). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Jesus Catholic Church (1009 Skyline Dr, Watertown, SD 57201).
