He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark Hillestad and Alvina "Dolly" Hillestad (Hammond); and his former wife Rita Anna. He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Fagin; his sister Dorothy Merchant; his children, Jennifer Allison-Myers (Eddie), Jonathan Hillestad (Danica) and Skye Strandberg (Carver); his grandchildren, Micah Allison, Lily Myers, Anaka Myers, Joseph Hillestad and Vera Strandberg; his siblings' children, Dan Merchant (Amy) and Tracy Bezesky; his close friend Dawn Kim Van Hoepen; his sister Wanda Hillestad; his former wife Rita Hillestad (Anna); his brother-in-law Dennis Merchant; his nephew-in-law Dave Bezesky; and also Bob Wright.
