He was predeceased by: his parents, Milo Stephenson and Peggy Stephenson (Cole); his parents-in-law, Earl and Doris Griepentrog; his brother-in-law Larry Griepentrog; and his grandparents, Sigurd, Ida Stephenson, Donald and Agnes Cole.
He is survived by: his wife Marge Stephenson of Waubay; his children, Don Stephenson (Alicia) of Blakesburg and Deb Rumpza (Sonny) of Waubay; his grandchildren, Jordan Stephenson (Jenna), Colby Rumpza, Emma Grandpre, Dylan Rumpza, Peyton Rumpza, Nate and Bryce Siefker; his great grandchildren, Avery and Ada Stephenson; his sister Charlotte Engebretson (Juel); and his goddaughter Carrie Hoffman (Kevin) of Pittsburg, PA..
Visitation was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church (26 4th Ave, Waubay, SD 57273). A celebration of life was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
