He was predeceased by: his parents, Nels Valsvig and Alma Valsvig (Aadson); his parents-in-law, Melvin and Anna Solberg (Iverson); his siblings-in-law, John Nicolai, Harry Schmidt, Gene Watters, Lorraine Nicolai and Alice Schmidt; his grandson Robert "Rob" Hoover; his great grandchild Zachary "Zach" Hoover; his grandson-in-law Rob Ash; and his close friends, David Clausen, Cliff Nygaard and Vernon Hanson.
He is survived by: his wife Deloris Solberg; his children, Debra Hoover (Bob) of Watertown, SD, Dan Valsvig (Michelle) of Webster, SD, Doug Valsvig (Kari) of Webster, SD, Diana Sinner (Joel) of Webster, SD, Dawna Grimes (Randy) of Watertown, SD and Darla Horton (Wade) of Sioux Falls, SD; his sister Karen Watters of Webster, SD; and his extended family, Chris and Kisha Abbas. He is also survived by 3 children; and many nieces, nephews, friends.
