He is survived by: his sons, Michael Schmitz (Alice) of Alexandria, MN, David Schmitz of Littleton, CO and Bil Schmitz (Laurie) of Olivia, MN; his grandchildren, Zachary Schmitz, Amanda Volesky, Justin Schmitz, Ashley Ebnet and Morgan Ryan; and his sisters, Emily Schmitz and Linda Docktor. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
