Ione Schmidt Obituary

We announce the death of Ione Schmidt of Wentworth, South Dakota, who passed away on August 11, 2026, at the age of 88. Ione will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Ione will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Hoover and Gladys Hoover (Ringler); and her brothers, Dwight Hoover and Dale Hoover. She is survived by: her husband Rudy Schmidt; and her children, Tony Schmidt (Linda) of Wentworth, Dale Schmidt (Jolene) of Piedmont and Denise Reed of Sioux Falls.
