He was predeceased by: his parents, Alwin "Pooch" Peters and Eleanor Peters; his brothers, Gary and Dennis Peters; and his brother-in-law Dean Hopper.
He is survived by: his aunts, Darlene Kunzweiler of Yankton, SD and Arlene Anderson (Gary) of Coeur d'Alene, ID; his siblings, Vicki Persson (Delayne) of Stickney, SD, Cherie Hopper of Sioux Falls, SD, Brian Peters (Mary) of Wentworth, SD, Rhonda Peters of Sioux Falls, SD, Carla Chamberlain (Tom) of Milton, GA, Renee Peters (Dallas Schneider) of Springfield, SD and Craig Peters (Kellie) of Sioux Falls, SD; and his nieces and nephews, Karin Patterson (John), Jon, Kirsten, Justin Persson (Megan), Shelly Schwartz (Tommy), Mandy Olson (Tom), Amber, Josh Peters (Haley), Nick, Mitch Chamberlain (Amy), Ryan and Allie Peters. He is also survived by 11 great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, White Lake Senior Meals, or the White Lake Ambulance Service.
