She was predeceased by: her parents, Otto Thielmann and Bertha Thielmann (Minder); her husband Russell; her son Harlan; her sisters, Eunice Chamley (Keith) and Gladys Miller (Charles); her great-niece Whitney Rose Gravetter; and her great-nephew Timmy Cobbs.

She is survived by: her children, Rodney Hansen (Jia Hui Dong) of Wilmot, SD and Carolyn Hansen of Watertown, SD; her daughter-in-law Kathy Hyronimus of Wilmot, SD; her grandchildren, Hanna Stenson (Jesse) of Lidgerwood, ND, Gerald Swayze (Kimberly) of Wilmot, SD and Emily Hennagir (Tyler) of Wilmot, SD; her great grandchildren, Daniel, Ethan, Oscar Swayze, Tatum, Lila, Zane and Tripp Stenson; and her sibling's children, Vicki Cobbs of Port St, Candace Gravetter, Jane Chandler (Jerry) of Kansas City, MO and Steve Chamley (Teresa) of Council Bluffs, IA..

Due to Covid in 2020, Arlene moved to Watertown and lived with her daughter, Carolyn.

Memorial donations may be given to Prairie Lakes Hospice in Watertown and the Senior Companion Program.
