He was predeceased by: his parents, John Tietjen and Margaret Tietjen (Hippen); his son David; his wife Glenora Schlicht (Steen); and his brother Robert.
He is survived by: his family Morris; his children, Tom Tietjen (Aileen) of Chanhassen, Minnesota, Randy Tietjen (Susan) of Edina, Minnesota and Mary Tietjen (Jay) of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Eric, Sara, Benjamin, Sophia, Clara and Annalisa; his great grandchild Gwendolyn; and his sisters, Janice Pond, Margaret Moratis, Linda Tietjen, Dianne Tietjen and Audrey Berry.
