He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Owen "Walt" and Josephine M "Josie" Schmidt (Dusek). He is survived by: his wife Janis of Huron; his sons, Chad Schmidt (Danielle) of Summerset and Travis Schmidt of Hartford; and his grandchildren, Lillian Schmidt and Cole Froelich of Summerset.
