She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis "Red" Moran and Bertha Ritter Moran; her siblings, Mathew Moran, Tommy Moran, Dan Moran, Larry Moran, Rose Marie Moran, Maggie Nelson (Carney), Ceceila Williams (Leon) and Lea Jane Moran (Geraldine Moran); her siblings-in-law, Bev Moran, Donna Moran, Carney Nelson, Larry Borgerding and Leon Williams; her nieces, Karen Borgerding Shore and Laurie Nelson Shay; her great-nephew Kory Hendrickson; and her great-niece Kirsten Harless.

She is survived by: her siblings, James Moran (Donna), Patricia Borgerding (Larry) and Mary Carol Gere (Dennis); her sisters-in-law, Trudy Moran (Dan) and Nathlee Moran (Matt); and her foster son Colton Thiesfeld. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

“Lynn was an excellent lawyer and a leader in the Custer County community and Democratic party. She pressed for women to “lean in” and was the first woman to join the Custer Community Rotary (or possibly some other all-male organization and whatever it was, I think she quickly rose to presidency). She was president of the local Dems and ran for the state legislature at least 3 times, a sacrifice because Dems don’t win when voter registration os as lopsided as in SD especially the western region.”

Many people when they come across a moral dilemma say what would Jesus do? I say that also but many many times I would say what would Lynn do in this situation and it’s always the right thing.
