It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernadette Westegaard of Yankton, South Dakota, who passed away on March 16, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, John G. Dangel and Sylvia Dangel (Andersen); her husband Arland Eugene Westegaard; and her brother Leo Dangel. She is survived by : her children, Angela Hejl (Roger) of Yankton, SD, Joan Sathe (Bill) of Eaton, CO, Charles of Spokane, WA, Marietta Bjorklund (Deldean) of Norfolk, NE, Paul of Yankton, SD, Donald Otis Orchard (Linda), Sheila Hammond (Scott) of Mitchell, SD, Karen of Sioux Falls, SD and Linda Shumaker (Tim) of Vermillion, SD.; her sisters, Monica Falter of Norfolk, NE, Anna Dangel of Yankton, SD, Mary Slowey of Yankton, SD and Rose Hauger (Clarence) of Yankton, SD; and her sister-in-law Doris DeVries (Darwin). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Sacred Heart Cemetery, Yankton, or St Boniface Cemetery, Idywilde, or Avera @ Home Hospice.
