With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carolyn Marie Pickart of Yankton, South Dakota, who passed away on March 28, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Boyce Shreve and Edna Shreve (Anderson); her husband Jack Pickart; her grandchildren, Nathanial, Christopher Pond and Celeste Pond; her stepdaughter Jill Pickart; her foster children, Kelly and Chad Blaschke; her brothers, Jack and Roger Shreve; and her brothers-in-law, Jim Haberman, Fred Lema and Ron Berney.

She is survived by: her sons, Chad Pond (Cathi) of Maroa, IL, Tim Pond (Julie) of Aberdeen, SD and Scott Pond of Aberdeen, SD; her stepchildren, Mike Pickart of St. Louis Park, MN, Mark Pickart (Susan) of St. Paul, MN, Kris Malloy (Bob) of Parkston, SD, Robin Hohn (Scott) of Parkston, SD and Colleen Anderson (Joe) of Sioux Falls, SD; her grandchildren, Craig Pond (Amber) of Decatur, IL, Corey Pond of Chicago, IL and Boyce Pond (Hayley) of Aberdeen, SD; her stepgrandchildren, Matt Malloy (Meg), Maggie Malloy, Marie Gavin (Dylan), Will, Charlie Pickart, Izzy, Elly, Abby Hohn, Sam and Ben Anderson; her great grandchildren, Rory Pond, Benjamin Pond and Xavior Ellenbacker; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Kamari, Kollins, Kenya Malloy, Margot, Mabel Malloy, Riggs and Ryan Gavin; her siblings, Charolette Lema of Yankton, SD, Joan Haberman of Crofton, NE, Janet Moderegger (Bob) of Yankton, SD, Michael Shreve (Rosemary) of Edgewood, NM, Theresa Ferris (Rich) of Kearney, NE and Roberta Berney of Yankton, SD; and her sister-in-law Marilyn Shreve of Cottonwood, AZ. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Even after battling Alzheimer's in her last few years, she always had that smile on her face even to her last day.
