He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hauger and Ann Hauger (Christensen); and his siblings, Darlene Hirschman, Dorothy Pasco and Tom Hauger.
He is survived by: his wife Rose Hauger of Yankton; his children, Cindy Hauger of Dakota Dunes, SD, Deb Hauger of Yankton, Mike Hauger (Jo Anne Novacek) of Omaha, NE, Shelly Brill of Atlanta, GA and Jon Hauger (Cheryl Shear) of Dakota Dunes; his grandchildren, Arica Doyle (Phillip), Allison Hauger, Lauren Embry (Seth), Taylor Hauger, Benjamin Hauger and Jacob Hauger; and his great grandchild Charlotte Doyle.
A memorial gathering was held on Friday, February 20th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home – Yankton (2901 Douglas Ave, Yankton, SD 57078). A rosary was held on Friday, February 20th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, February 21st 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Benedict Catholic Church (1500 St Benedict Dr, Yankton, SD 57078).
