He is survived by: his wife Pauline Groetken of Sioux Falls; his children, Marcy Moser (Darren) of Yankton, Shelly Jones (Tom) of Sioux Falls, Cyril James "C. J." Groetken Jr. (Kelly) of Bloomington, Illinois, Melissa Christianson (Donavan Stinson) of San Antonio, Texas and Michael Groetken of Sioux Falls; and his siblings, Rich Groetken (Kathy), Pete Groetken (Donna), Mary Jones (Dale), Robert Groetken (Deb), Cecil Groetken (Karen Yowell) and Deb Weddingfeld (James). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church - Yankton (403 Broadway Ave, Yankton, SD 57078). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (403 Broadway Ave, Yankton, SD 57078).
