He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Swenson and Lilas Swenson (Hartsworm); his wife Linda Lou Sonnabend; and his brothers, Darold Swenson, Dean Swenson, Danny Swenson and Bruce Swenson.
He is survived by: his children, Lynnette Santiago (Robert), Michal Swenson (Laura) and Michelle Larsen (Dan); his grandchildren, Brandon Swenson, Whitley Walker, Mathew Santiago, Andrew Swenson, Dalton Swenson, Trinity Swenson and Charlotte Larsen; his great grandchildren, Gabe Rock, Dominick Swenson, Adalynn Swenson, Maddox Swenson, Oliver Swenson and Cassidy Santiago; and his sister Shirley Nelson (Gary).
A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Goglin Funeral Home - Yankton (807 31st St, Yankton, SD 57078). The inurnment was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at the Yankton Municipal Cemetery (2505 Douglas Ave, Yankton, SD 57078).
