He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Slowey and Mary Evelyn Slowey (Nooney); his brothers-in-law, Duane "Winky" Jensen and Aelred Walz; and his nephew Gordon Walz.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Mike Lansdowne, Cody Lansdowne, Mitchell Lansdowne, Garret Evans, Curtis Evans and Brandy Bennett; his wife Yvonne Slowey of Yankton; his daughters, Lisa Evans (Kevin) of Yankton and Tracy Slowey (Wayne Buss) of Irene; and his sisters, Judy Jensen of Irene and Mary Ann Marek (Les) of Yankton. He is also survived by six grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
