It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Henry Smith of Yankton, South Dakota, who passed away on February 1, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alma T Hanson and Roy Joseph Smith; his son Christopher; and his sister Jean. He is survived by: his sisters, Patricia, Colleen and Sharon; his wife JoAnn Beran; his children, Patrick (Paula), James (Kim) and Mary (Darrell); his close friend JoAnn; Mike. He is also survived by many grandchildren, and a great grandchild.

Due to Covid-19 some family and friends are unable to come or are not comfortable with crowds yet.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to Alzheimer's research.
