With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John L. Leinen of Yankton, South Dakota, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who passed away on March 27, 2022. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Leinen and Rose Leinen (Synder); and his wife Sharon Leinen. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Eric Sedlacek, Ben Sedlacek, Charlie Sedlacek, Jared Cheever, Eli Cheever, Davis McCallum, Britney Leinen, Sydney Porter, Annika McCallum and Eliza McCallum; his children, Judy Cheever (Todd) of Brandon, SD, Sam Leinen (Tara) of Sioux Falls, Mollie Porter (Greg) of Shakopee, MN and Kate Sedlacek (Brian) of Shakopee; and his siblings, Bill Leinen (Marlys) of South Haven, MN, Joan Scheveck (Ed) of Fargo, ND, Ethel Kuss (Frank) of Wheaton, MN, Nancy Roehrich (Don) of Fargo, Liz Miller (Scott) of Wahpeton, ND and Denise Miller (Greg) of Warrenville, IL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
