She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence DeJong and Edna DeJong (Mulder); her brothers, Carlen and Larry DeJong; and her stepfather George O'Brien.
She is survived by: her grandchild Spring; her boyfriend Lowell Zweifel of Beresford; her children, Rick Gorter (Christine) of Lakewood and Dale Gorter (Susan) of Lakewood, Colorado; her granddaughter Rachael Smith (Ryan) of Elizabeth, Colorado; her children, Kaely Gorter of Grand Junction, Colorado, Lea Gorter of Grand Junction, Colorado and Ricky Jr. Gorter (Stephanie) of Sioux City, Iowa; her great grandchildren, Raylan, Ruthie Mae Rose, Reese, Jimmy and Ryder; her boyfriend's son Calvin Zweifel of Beresford; her great grandchildren, Alan Zweifel (Leslie) and Doug Zweifel of Anchorage, Alaska; her siblings, Windell DeJong (Marilyn) and Belinda Carson (Don); Jacob, Jonathon and Jalynn of Bereford.
Karen Rose Watson, age 80, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Friday, August 5, 2022, surrounded by her family after a brave fight with Parkinson's.
