He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Schmitz and Elizabeth Schmitz; his siblings, Richard, Diane Dose and Teresa Schmitz; and his siblings-in-law, Arlene Schmitz and Bob Mandelkow.
He is survived by: his siblings, Donald Schmitz of Slayton, Minnesota, Donna Bass (Vernon) of Okabena, Laurie Mandelkow of Red Wing and Marilyn Boerboom (Leonard) of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and his brother-in-law Donald Dose of Elgin, Minnesota. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to St. Rose Catholic Church, St. Rose School, Crofton Knights of Columbus, or Crofton Bluejays.
