He was predeceased by: his parents, Murlen Goettsch and Florence Goettsch (Delperdang); his in-laws, Albert and Lea Klasi; and his sisters, Jaqueline Goettsch and Kathryn Goettsch.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Goettsch (Klasi) of Yankton; his daughter Desiree Duitsman (Terry) of Sioux City, IA; his stepson Wayne Brunke (Melodee) of Scotland, SD.; his granddaughters, Haley (Kolten), Karyissa (Austin) and Myranda (Hunter); his great grandchild Wynter; and his siblings, Margaret Steffen (Cal) of Minneapolis, MN, Dale Goettsch (Ellen) of Burnsville, MN, Thomas Goettsch (Jan) of Galva, IA and Brian Goettsch (Sandra) of Galva.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home – Yankton (2901 Douglas Ave, Yankton, SD 57078). A vigil service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
