He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey Johnson Gant and Ada Alma Gant; and his siblings, Kenneth Wayne Gant and Mildred Churchwell. He is survived by: his wife Marie "Barnie" Gant; his children, Kim Van Frank (Brad), Karen Martin (Jeff) and Kristie Rash (Rob); his grandchildren, Logan Van Frank, Landon Van Frank, Jeffery Martin, Lane Martin, Erin Martin, Hayden Rash and Grayson Rash; his great grandchildren, Jeffery and Josephine; and his siblings, Naoma Feathers and Joe Gant (Betty).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Sharon Baptist Church (3514 Cravens Rd, Savannah, TN 38372). A burial will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Forest Hill East Cemetery (2440 Whitten Rd, Memphis, TN 38133).
