He was predeceased by: his parents, David Dorris McClanahan, Sr. and Sarah Aline Young McClanahan; his wife Peggy Granstaff McClanahan; and his siblings, James Oscar McClanahan, David Dorris McClanahan, Jr., Selma McClanahan, Frances Gwaltney and Pauline Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Robin Watson of Alexandria, TN and Traci McClanahan of Alexandria, TN.; and his grandchildren, Logan Watson of Alexandria, TN and Courtney Watson of Murfreesboro, TN..
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the New Hope Cemetery (2443 New Hope Rd, Alexandria, TN 37012). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
