He was predeceased by : his father Charles Ray; his sisters, Diane Haynes and Nancy Pinegar; and his grandson Dylan Harwell. He is survived by : his wife Tina Cook Gipson; his children, Tammy Holder (Matt), Jaya Harwell (Jerry), Tosha Maynard (Tommy), Jamie Anderson (Holly) and Shannon Anderson (Jessica); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Little (Anthony), Jacob Holder, Hannah Anderson (Austin Brown), Emily Anderson, Caitlyn, Colton Harwell, Tyler, Tanner, Leah, Kyler, Kayden, Makenzie Anderson, Carson Maynard and Zackary Holder (Missy); his great grandchildren, Carter Little and Easton Holder; his siblings, Janet Smartt (Bud), Mary Brewer and Danny Gipson (Diane); and his siblings-in-law, Melinda Miller (Mark) and Ernie Cook (Kristen). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to flowers, the family ask that donations be made to either St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriner's Children Hospital.
