Ophelia left this world on November 10, 2025 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Alfred Lawson Sr. and Mildred Evelene Lankford Lawson. She is survived by: her husband Claude Parson; her daughter Pamela Sue Parson; her grandson Kyle Parson; her siblings, Lucille Phipps, Nina Ruth Lawson, Janice Nunley, Charles Jr., Jonathan, Herbert and Lewis Harlen Lawson; her children, Brenda Bailey (John), Claude Eugene Parson (Sue), Bruce Parson (Tammy), Steve Parson (Lavona) and Richard Parson (Roxanne); and her siblings, Thomas Lawson (Wanda), Evelyn Meeks Verner, Elaine Irvin, Christine Stockwell, Faye Grimes (Harley), Angeline Stockwell (Jerry) and Alfreda Whited Byford (Donald). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Layne Funeral Home (182 Fitchtown Rd, Altamont, TN 37301). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at the Altamont Cemetery (225 Northcutts Cv Rd, Altamont, TN 37301).
