Thomas Farrell Mannings Obituary
May 15, 1993 was the day Thomas Farrell Mannings graced the Earth! What a day this was; not only because he was born; but also because he was chosen. Mildred J. Mannings brought home a handsome baby boy who was surely to become her pride and joy. Farrell as he was affectionately called was the youngest of four. He was educated through the Metro Nashville Public Schools system and while in elementary school, Farrell played on the Youth Incorporated Basketball team.
He played saxophone while in middle school and was on the bowling team in high school. Because of his love for God, Farrell was also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) which afforded him the opportunity to fellowship with like-minded Christian teens and celebrate God's goodness even while attending school and actively participating in sports.
Farrell successfully graduated from Cane Ridge High School in May of 2011. After graduating, he attended Tennessee Rehabilitation Center (TRC), studied techniques in manufacturing and warehousing, and completed a mock program with Walgreens. Farrell graduated a second time from TRC in 2013, and continued his education at Nashville State Community College where he studied Business Administration.
Farrell had a true passion for music and loved singing. He participated and sang in several choirs, including Judah Generation, Momentum, and the Sanctuary Choir at Mt. Zion. Farrell also served as an usher, was a dedicated member of the Media Ministry and the Mt. Zion Drill Team. Although these activities kept him busy, he always had time to share a smile, tell a joke and offer a laugh to anyone who would listen.
Farrell's laugh was as melodious and infectious as his smile and his towering height. On January 6, 2018, God called Farrell to his heavenly home. His Grandmother Mildred E. Watkins, Uncle Michael C. Watkins, and Nephew Phillip A. "Neiko" Green, Jr. precede him in death. Remaining here to celebrate his memory are his Mother Mildred J. Mannings; Sisters Tonya (Phillip) Green, Sr., Tiffany J. Mannings, Tosha D. Mannings; Niece Alexandrya N. Green, Nephews Camden N. Green and Jayce A. Dumas, Great Nephew Jon A. Hamilton, Jr., Uncle Charles Watkins, Aunt Jacqueline (Felix) Brown and a host of cousins and friends.
