Though Roger may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernhardt Detlef Joens and Mildred Edith Joens (Compton); and his sister Donna Joens Clothier (Melvin Clothier). He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Stewart-Joens (Diane) of Monroe, Georgia and Russell Joens (Casie) of Madison, Alabama; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Mott (Patrick) of Madison, Alabama and Matthew Joens of Madison, Alabama; and his brothers-in-law, Allen Ehlers (Becky) of Manning, Charles Ehlers (Nadine) of Manning and Robert Ehlers (Brenda) of Manning. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
