He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Butler and Clara Butler; his son Greg Smith; and his siblings, Elizabeth Carter, Raymond Butler, Roy Butler and Tommy Butler.
He is survived by: his wife Anita Butler; his daughter Kelly Griswold (Philip); and his grandchildren, Kandice Reese (Eric), Jesse Smith (Deborah), Chad Brewington (Kristine), Jennifer Weers (Zach), Melissa Marshall (Barry), Elizabeth Stoll (Michael) and Allison Griswold. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
