We announce the death of Carla Shifflett of Athens, Tennessee, who passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 71. She was predeceased by: her parents, John William "Jay" and Nina Ruth Norwood Presswood. She is survived by: her husband Melvin "Mel" Shifflett; her children, Travis Shifflett, Amber Allmon (Andrew) and Carlie Melton (Greg); and her granddaughter Mabel Allmon.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ziegler Funeral Home (521 W Madison Ave, Athens, TN 37303-3490). A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the McMinn Memory Gardens (1727-1739 Co Rd 560, Athens, TN 37303).
