He is survived by: his children, Eric Laney of Knoxville, Stephanie Roulette of Louisville, Richard Laney of Knoxville, Danny McTaggert of Knoxville and Josh Hendricks of Swaney, GA; his grandchildren, Ethan Laney, Madison Laney, Melina Laney, Hunter Martin, Bryson McTaggert, Tatiana McTaggert, Izzy McTaggert and Kensley Key; his great grandchild Broady Fox; his siblings, Lila Laney, Donnie Laney (Rebecca), Ralph Laney (Darla), Sharon McKune and Judy Ogle; his sister-in-law Debra Laney; and his nieces, Tina Laney, Diana McMinn, Tanya Hess and Nicole Johnson. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
