He was predeceased by : his grandparents, Harold, Lucille Cook Stewart, Tullie Duncan and John Thomas Sykes. He is survived by : his parents, Robert Sykes and Claudine Stewart Sykes of Athens; his son Tyler Sykes (Jaimee) of Ft. Myers, FL; his sisters, Denise Sykes Buckner (Greg) of Ten Mile and Rae Ayn Aldridge (Keith) of Athens; his nephew Chet Wolfenden (Christy); his niece Megayn Wolfenden; his great-nephew Elliott Wolfenden; his uncles, Howard Sykes and Gerald Sykes; and his aunt Freida Heinz.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (305 Ingleside Ave, Athens, TN 37303).
