She was predeceased by : her husband Louie E. Carter; and her sister Mary Lee Cardin. She is survived by : her daughter Teresa; her son-in-law George Hester of Athens, Tenn.; her siblings, David (Margo Hogan), Jimmy (Teena Hogan) and Linda; and her brother-in-law Buster Evans. She is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home (521 N Jackson St, Athens, TN 37371). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Foster Cemetery (401 Co Rd 279, Niota, TN 37826).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga and McMinn County Humane Society.
