He was predeceased by: his parents, Bobby Lynn and Jacky Thompson Byrum; his uncle Brad Byrum; and his sister-in-law Brenda Westbrooks. He is survived by: his wife Karen Martin Byrum of Athens; his son David "Rowdy"; his daughter-in-law Angie Byrum of Chattanooga; his children, Mike Mahery (Jannine), Annette Duckworth and Dianne Palmore; his grandchildren, Liam Byrum, Claton Heath, Cassidy Heath, Abby Duckworth, Drew Palmore (Britny), Julie Mangrum (Grant) and Lindsey Klarenbeek (Johnny); his brother Todd; his sister-in-law Chris Byrum of Chattanooga; his niece Brooke Byrum; his uncles, Pat Byrum and Steve Byrum; his cousins, Brad Byrum, Patrick Byrum, Kelly Byrum, Meredith Byrum and Phillip Byrum; and his niece Christy Cloud. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the East Athens Baptist Church (301 Central Ave, Athens, TN 37303). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to East Athens Baptist Church, 301 Central Avenue, Athens, TN 37303.
