She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Ross Thomas and Thursie Copeland Thomas; her husband Charles Oakes; her brother Albert Ray Thomas; and her siblings-in-law, Margaret O. King and William Bee King.
She is survived by: her sibling's children, Rev. Steve King (Paula) of High Point, NC, Sondra K. Vaughn (Robert) of Germanton, NC and Kristin King Rouse (Rodney) of Madison, NC. She is also survived by many other grand nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude For Children Cancer Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959; or to a charity of your choice.
