Gena Simone Whaley Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gena Simone Whaley of Athens, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 14, 2025 at the age of 56. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Norman, Alma King, Ray, Carline Weir and Charles Whaley.
She is survived by: her parents, Bob Whaley and Carolyn Whaley; her children, Haley Manney (Caleb Bremer), Paige Buckner (Haden) and Parker Manney; and her grandchild Stetson Buckner.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home (521 N Jackson St, Athens, TN 37303). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the McMinn Memory Gardens (1727-1739 Co Rd 560, Athens, TN 37303).
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Keith United Methodist Church of Athens or TWU Womens Track and field scholorship fund.
