He was predeceased by: his parents, Corbit Sliger and Hazel Sliger. He is survived by: his wife Pat Sliger; his children, Gina Sliger (late Greg Shook) of Chattanooga and Stephen Sliger (Julie) of Athens; his siblings, Ellis Sliger (Frances) of Athens, Joyce Widener (late Wayne) of Delano, David Sliger (late Loretta) of Athens and Janice Bowman (Allen) of Decatur; and his siblings-in-law, Tom Reynolds (LenaBeth) of Sweetwater and Linda Reynolds (late Mike) of Benton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted, 11:00 am, Monday, September 29, 2025 at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Rev. Vant Hardaway officiating, (family and friends will be welcome at the graveside service.) The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959; or McMinn County Regional Humane Society, 320 South Jackson Street, Athens, TN 37303.
